Yeah, who doesn't want to be a part of a tribe since it has become the buzz word of the month with only the coolest like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence or Beyonce all claiming their own. Jack & Ollie belong in a different TRIBE and it's one that you should check out!
You may have heard about Jules Lund - Getaway presenter and half of the very popular radio show The Scoopla Show with Emma Freedman. After Jules had been asked over and over again to sponsor posts and brands on his own social media profiles, he came up with an ingenious business idea to open the opportunity of connecting brands with social influencers through an app. Jackson and I caught up with Jules and his magnificent team to talk about spreading the word about TRIBE to other social media savvy influencers and brands looking to market their products online.
So how does it work? Download the TRIBE INFLUENCER app from the App Store. Once you have logged in as an influencer with your Instagram, Facebook or Twitter profile, you choose which categories you would like to see campaigns from, for example, fashion, food, sport, fitness, etc. On the home page you can then see all of the campaigns available and exactly what the brand is looking for with a social media post. You then upload the exact photo you would use on your profile, with the exact caption you would share inclusive of any hashtags or handles the brand has specified in their brief. Then, you get to choose how much you would like to be paid for sharing the post on your social media pages. TRIBE has a great little fees card to give you an idea of what you could charge based on the amount of followers you have. Once submitted, the brand will either approve, decline or negotiate with you on the caption, picture or price. IT'S REALLY THAT SIMPLE!
Of course there is best practice that applies and social influencers should follow, like if you aren't willing to purchase the product that your sharing, you probably shouldn't be asking your loyal followers to do the same. Also, no-one really appreciates every second post with a hashtag of #sponsored or #ad - your authenticity will decline dramatically.
As a brand we found out that it COSTS NOTHING to create a brief and upload it onto the TRIBE app. That's right, NOTHING. What have you got to lose? Whether you sell a service or product, if you have influencers that have your target audience and are willing to show your business to their thousands of followers, it is totally in your hands what submissions you accept and how much money you'd like to pay. In today's market, social media is the most direct form of word-of-mouth marketing that you can get!
So what are you waiting for? if you have more than 5000 organic followers over your social media platforms (i.e. genuine accounts, not paid for), and your profiles are made public, request to be a TRIBE influencer. What have you got to lose?
