Living in south-east Queensland has many benefits, like being within driving distance to many beautiful beaches, rainforests and other spectacular scenery. One of our most favourite places IN THE WORLD is the stunning Noosa on the Sunshine Coast - under two hours drive north of Brisbane. With lush rainforests in the hinterland, the blissful beaches overlooking the blue hues of the ocean and the swanky, relaxed shopping strip on Hastings Street, Noosa Heads has everything for the hard-working professional, young family, honeymooners and retirees. If you’re needing a place to stay, look no further than the Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa.
Every time I visit Noosa to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, I drive past the Sheraton Hotel, and each time I think that one day, I will be lapping up the luxuries within these walls. Our family arrived with much anticipation, and the Sheraton hasn’t disappointed! The porters who greeted us at the front of the lobby welcomed us with enthusiasm and friendliness, and immediately informed us of our complimentary car parking, checking-in instructions and that our suitcase would be waiting for us in our room. Didn’t we feel like VIP’s!
We headed up to the top floor with spectacular views overlooking the Noosa River all the way out to the mountain ranges in the west. Hubby and I immediately grabbed the courtesy cheese and fruit platter and sparkling wine and head out to our balcony to admire the scenery, while the boys raced into the bathroom to check out the spa bath. For all of 5 minutes, it seemed like we were on our honeymoon again until Jack and Ollie decided that the pool was going to be better to swim in.
This is when I quickly made my getaway. I grabbed a room key and raced down to the ground floor to duck into the luxurious day spa for some much needed "aqua therapy". Yep, I was also wondering what exactly that meant. Let me break it down for you. In this particular corner of heaven, Sheraton have provided some much needed R&R space away from the excited squeals of little children. This is where you come to get pampered with a massage or beauty treatment, or just simply indulge in their spa and steam room areas. Whether it takes an hour or a day, after your all relaxed and feeling like a new person, you can then finish your session with a bit of tea and/or fruit from their peaceful sitting area. Did I mention how good this place smells?
I eventually caught up with the boys in the resort-style pool and they were having so much fun that they didn’t even get out a “hello” before ducking underwater again to practice their somersaults! Again, this was my opportunity to feel like a queen and order an espresso martini, just because.
Another reason to love Sheraton Noosa is it’s brilliant location! It has dual frontage - one side faces the calming, blissful river ways and the other has a direct path straight into the middle of the main street of shopping and dining which makes access to Main Beach and the boardwalk just a small stroll away. Location for us is everything with two small kids; and being this close to all of the activity, Sheraton Noosa scores a big fat tick! The sun started fading and so we decided to headed out onto Hastings Street for dinner. God, I love this place. The street was bustling with holiday-makers and the trees were glistening with fairy lights. As a lover of all things sparkly, I was like a fat kid in a candy store. I would have just twirled down the street, giggling to myself if that didn’t look too weird.
We woke up bright and early the next morning after having a solid night’s sleep and were hankering for some bacon! As part of our stay, we had breakfast at the Noosa Beach House Restaurant on the ground floor which overlooks Hastings Street. We all dined on a hot and continental buffet with essentials like egg, bacon, pancakes, yoghurt and fruit. I could very easily get used to having feasts like this every morning!
Just before checkout, we decided to have one last swim around the resort pool and make the most of the island bar in the middle. Celebrating the magnificent weather and the Summer holidays, our stay at Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa has been nothing short of perfection! The impeccable and always helpful staff, the “middle of everything” location, the beautiful hotel itself boasting only the best services and facilities, our family couldn’t have asked for more. And like TripAdvisor, Bookings.com, Wotif and Expedia, we also rate it as one of the best places to stay in South East Queensland.
